Library

  The Base Library has a book collection in excess of 20,000 volumes and over 2,700 educational and recreational videos, books on tape, books on CD, DVD's and music CD’s.

COMPUTER RESOURCES

Our computer lab consists of ten Internet fast access computers with 1 LaserJet printer attached. Also available is a scanner for your use. Each user must read an agreement at the circulation desk before signing. Workstations are available on first come first serve with a one hour time limit if others are waiting.

A variety of materials is available for checkout for many areas of Dantes Test Preparation.

  • CLEP Study materials
    Five general subjects are available in VHS, DVD and CD format: 
    English, Math, Humanities, Social Science and Natural Science
    In addition to these five we also have Business Law, Algebra, U.S. History I, U.S. History II, Intro to Management, American Government, General Chemistry, Biology, Introduction to Psychology and American Literature
       
  • Professional Reading Lists
    A separate book collection is available for those titles in the CSAF’s Professional Reading List.
       
  • Bibliographies
    Bibliographies are created for annual programs such as Asian/Pacific Heritage, Seasonal holidays & Back-to-school and are available for handout during that time. 

ACTIVITIES AND SERVICES

Library Tours are conducted as requested by local community groups such as Boy/Cub Scouts, local schools College/University classes on CAFB campus, visiting ROTC Units and FTAC (First Time Airman).
  
Interlibrary Loan service provides a source for locating and borrowing titles not in our collection.

Summer Reading Program for school age children in grades 1-6, June – July
  
Story-time for preschool ages 3-5 is offered weekly during the school year, special times during the year and other times as requested.
  
For “little hands only” – grades K – 4, there are four workstations available with fun educational learning software.

Squadron Pumpkin Carving Contest is an annual Halloween season event to show off your carving and artistic ability. One entry per Squadron and may the best entry win.

Publisher’s Weekly Best Seller’s List
As a special service to our customers, we provide a copy of the Publisher’s Weekly Best Seller’s list and highlight the titles as they are received. Many of these books are ordered from the McNaughton Book Lending Service.
  
Oprah Winfrey’s Book Club Collection
We also maintain a separate book collection of titles from Oprah’s Book Club so that they are easily accessible.
  
Audio/Visual Collection: checkout for 10 days.
We have an extensive collection of Music CD’s, Videos, DVD's, Books on Tape and Books on CD. The collection includes music from many categories (jazz, pop/rock, classical country/western, etc.) Our books on tape and cd consist of the popular fiction as well as a number of nonfiction self help titles and children books. We currently have over 500 DVDs of the following kind: movies, exercise, music, educational and etc.
  
Paperback book swap
For the avid paperback book buyer/reader, there is a one for one paperback book swap rack. You might even find a book or two that you have not bought & read.
