CLASSES

Cardio Combo Give us 60 minutes, and we'll give you a total body workout. This class incorporates 30 minutes of step training and/or Hi/Lo aerobics with 30 minutes of sculpting using stretch bands and free weights.

Step This is an intense 45 minutes of cardio-training, followed by 10 minutes of abdominal strengthening. Just what the doctor ordered for reduction of body fat and increasing cardiovascular endurance.

Strength and Tone This full body workout incorporates strength, endurance and sculpting using stretch bands, body bars, exercise balls and free weights. Terrific for building lean body mass, improving bone density and revving up your metabolism.

Cardio Kickboxing (CBK) Experience the power, energy, and heat in this blistering kickboxing workout! It's packed with jump roping, boxing, kickboxing and more! This dynamic workout will make you sweat and burn. This class focuses on the beginner/intermediate exerciser. This class also contains boxing combinations to challenge exercise enthusiasts.

Spinning Class Spin is a self-paced training session of 40-45 minutes of sprinting, resistance climbing and jogging-all done on a stationary bike. Spin will promise your body an intense cardiovascular workout but with added benefits to your arms and lower body, as well as relaxing your mind and releasing stress. Bring your water bottle, towel and be ready to sweat.

FIT Circuit This class incorporates cardiovascular, strength and endurance components in a high energy, circuit based class. Basic resistance exercises using body weight, dumbbells, resistance bands and stability balls alternate with sport based walking, running, skipping, shuffling and jumping drills to get your heart pumping. The class is interval based and can be modified for any fitness level from beginner to athletes. Youth ages 10 and older are welcome with parental supervision.

President’s Council on Physical Fitness Awards Program:

The President’s Council is celebrating its 30th year and is challenging all associated with the armed forces--service members, civilian employees, retirees, contractors and family members to earn a Presidential Sports Award. The award can be earned in four months by anyone over the age of six. After completing the requirements for your chosen activity (there are over 60 to choose from), the participant submits the fitness log and a $5 fee to the Presidents Council. The award itself consists of an emblem or patch and a certificate signed by the President. If family members participate together they will receive an additional Family Fitness strip.
The Council’s website www.aausports.org has a wealth of information. The site provides a list of approved activities, personal fitness logs, and answers to frequently asked questions. Call Ext. 2772.
