WELCOME TO THE COLUMBUS AIR FORCE BASE FAMILY CHILD CARE PROGRAM!
The Family Child Care program is a wonderful alternative to group care at the Child Development Center. Individuals provide care for children in their homes under the guidance of the Air Force Family Child Care Program. Parents needing shift, evening, or drop-in care, should take advantage of the spaces in one of the Family Child Care homes.
The providers go through training prior to being licensed and receive continuing training during their tenure as a provider. They also are CPR/First Aid certified. Providers and their family members have background checks done prior to them being licensed.
Homes are inspected initially by Fire, Safety, Military Public Health, and the FCC Coordinator. After licensing, homes are inspected monthly in all areas by the FCC Coordinator.
Family Child Care homes are private businesses; therefore, they set their own rates. They also set their hours and days of operations individually.
The Columbus Air Force Base Family Child
Program accepts children, employs staff, and approves
providers with chronic health problems.

benefits that on-base providers enjoy can be offered to you. For example,
you can use the Lending Program
take part in the training. Also, your name can be advertised along with the
providers on base. If your spouse is active duty AF and you are interested
