Welcome to the Columbus Air Force Base Child Development Center (CDC). You have chosen a high quality early childhood program that provides a safe and nurturing environment while promoting the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of young children. Our primary goal is to provide you with the highest quality program(s) for your child(ren). Air Force (AF), Department of Defense (DoD), and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) have recognized our team as meeting this goal.
ELIGIBLE USERS AND AGES OF CHILDREN ACCEPTED
Columbus AFB CDC accepts children six weeks of age through five years (until they enter Kindergarten). Children of active duty, DoD/NAF civilian employees and contract personnel may use the CDC. Children are enrolled in full time slots and drop-in care is available only on a space available basis. Hourly rates are applied for drop-in care.
NOTE ABOUT SPECIAL OPENINGS BY CONTRACT
The Center is available for “special openings” on weekends or evenings for special unit or group functions. Requests for a special opening must be made to the director in writing at least four weeks in advance of the date. The request must include the date the facility is needed, the hours, the number of children expected, and the ages of the children. A contact name and phone number must also be provided.

PART-DAY
PRESCHOOL AND TODDLER PROGRAMS.
Part-Day Preschool and Part-Day Toddler
programs are wonderful options for families who do not require full time
care, but still want their child to participate in enrichment activities
with other children. These programs are available for ages 2 years, and
3-5 years and are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
from 0900-1200.
HOW TO GET ON THE WAITING LIST
Request for Child Care (DD Form 2606), is filled out by patrons when childcare services are not available for their child or when care is needed at a later date. When there is space available for your child, you will be called by the CDC. You will then have three working days to respond. If you do not respond within the three working days or refuse services, you will be placed at the bottom of the waiting list.
