The Wood Hobby Shop is fully equipped with a variety of machinery to include: 24” planer, joiner, drill press, table saw, miter saw, radial arm saws, sanders, router table, and an assortment of hand tools. Planning books are also available to help make your woodworking dreams a reality.
There is a $1.85 an hour user fee. Patrons are given a mandatory safety briefing prior to utilizing the shop. Briefings are given on a walk-in basis during regular operating hours. Our highly qualified staff is always eager to assist you with your woodworking projects.

The Frame Shop offers custom framing for your precious photographs, aircraft prints, paintings, posters and special items. There are a large variety of mats and frames to choose from and go with any decor. Our custom frame shop is available to help you with all your framing needs.
Many styles of moldings are in stock and some may be special ordered. Hundreds of mat board selections are available that will go with any decor.
Artwork may be dry mounted to add a professional touch to framed posters, photos, certificates, etc. Our capable staff will be happy to assist you with your selection. Call extension 7856 for more information.
The Designer’s Choice Shop offers pen sets, mugs, name tags, award/farewell plaques, key chains, book markers, letter openers, dog tags and much more. They provide custom engraving, as well as make custom T-shirts, totes, aprons and more. Also available are BLAZE T-shirts and embroidered caps. We are always coming up with something new and different, so please stop by or call extension 7856.
Engraving is available for metal signs, name tags, dog tags, desk plates, plaques and trophies. Check out the many new Mississippi and aircraft line of laser wood plaques.

Learn to frame your own prints or family photos in this 4-week workshop. The U-Frame It Class meets two hours each session weekly. You will learn to cut mats and build frames, putting it all together into your own masterpiece. Cost is
$25.00 per student and includes all supplies. Call to sign up.

Instructional classes in many crafts are a standard curriculum at the Skills Center and are offered for a nominal fee. Advanced registration is required. Classes given for adults as well as children.

Annual Contests
The Services Arts and Crafts Program sponsors two annual contests during the fall of the year -- the
photography contest and the artist-craftsman
contest. Anyone authorized to use the Air Force Skills Development Facilities may enter either contest. Please consider sharing your talents with others by entering these contests. Both contests are judged in two groups: 18 and older; and 17 and younger; as well as various categories of competition. Dates are advertised in the base media and the center.
